GEORGE KRAUTH
Fire Island
George Krauth takes us out to sea. A foreboding sky shot on location at stormy Smith’s Point on the north end of Fire Island, NY.
Searching for breathing space after six years in New York, I was drawn to the mountains dotted along the Hudson River north of the city. It was natural as it reminded me much of the foothills that surround the small Tennessee town where I was raised. But when I decided to undertake a renovation of a summer home, I went the opposite direction and chose a small town with a New England feel on the south shore of Long Island. And with it came by beloved Land Cruiser. The photos enclosed represent a moment of my anticipation of autumn full of friends, campfires, and clamming.
